The inspiration behind Odio Mimonet’s creations is the contemporary working Nigerian woman. For almost twenty years, the couture house launched by Odio Oseni has been making modern, custom-fitted everyday wear and bridal collections for confident, sophisticated and urban clients, who seek versatile garments to match a busy lifestyle. The brand’s signature touch is a contemporary interpretation of West African kaftan-like garments like the boubou and shapely silhouettes, often adorned with elaborate embellishments, ample peplums, and statement sleeves, in ethically-sourced raw materials that include printed fabrics like Ankara. Hand-crafted, in-house designed prints inspired by nature are a permanent staple of the brand, which also produces accessories, including headwraps. Odio Mimonet seeks to convey a cohesive narrative of African history, while showcasing the best Nigeria has to offer in terms of artisanship, manufacture, and storytelling.
